Does anyone here give or get reiki or any form of energetic healing?

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Does it actually work. Please explain why.

I both give and receive. I think why it works is not something the human race has a way to clearly explain yet. Quantum physics gets part of it, the placebo effect gets part of it, the electromagnetic field of the body is part of it, etc. But none of those fully explains it.

The way in which Reiki and the placebo effect are different is that you don't have to believe in it to either give it or receive it. It will work anyway and also even if you don't know you're receiving it. And it doesn't have to be given to a living thing. I've fixed inanimate objects like my washing machine with it. It's supposed to be really good for fixing computers. :)

If you want to know if it actually works, I'll send you some long distance reiki. Then you can decide from personal experience.

How do I get clients for my Reiki practice?

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I have been doing distant Reiki healing for awhile now at various distant healing free requests websites and I've been getting positive feedback from people around the world who've benefited my Reiki treatments. I want to do distant Reiki professionally now because I need the pocket money to help pay some of my bills. How do I get clients for my distant Reiki practice? Where do I start? I don't want to start emailing people who've benefited my free Reiki treatment and start asking them for money, they're going to think it's spam email and start getting mad at me. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Advertise. Phone books are good, as are health food stores. You can buy mailing lists, but they can be expensive. Local newspapers, or "coupon books" (those things you always get in the mail), are good too. And don't for get the Internet.

Have you thought about doing local, hands-on Reiki? That may be a good place to start as well. Even if you don't have an office space, you can rent one from a local spa. Try to make a deal where they get a certain percent of your earnings — this way you don't have to pay if you don't make any money. And they'll help you advertise.

Good luck!

What are some good sites to visit about reiki?

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

I've just recently gotten my level one attunement to reiki and now I just seem to want to read everything I can find on the topic. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sites besides the standard google results that have quality information about reiki?

I would also love to exchange ideas and info with any other reiki practitioners and hopefully build a small group of friends who share the same interests as me.

I took an introductory course in animal Reiki from Kathleen Prasad at Brighthaven Sanctuary.

She has a website at: http://animalreikisource.com and a Yahoo group called animalreikisource. Many members of her group send Reiki to animals and their owners.

I learned that another person is doing animal Reiki at the local shelter and will be meeting with her this afternoon to get started with the animals there.

Does anyone know a good place to attend for Reiki? I need to start at the 1st level attunement.

I just googled "Reiki Master" with the state and/or city that your in. And from there you can get in contact with them and set up an appointment to see if you are the right fit together..

Why do I get chills after giving Reiki treatment? Does this happen to anyone else?

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

After giving Reiki treatments I experience chills. Not normal chills from being cold, its cold from the inside out! It takes me a couple of hours to shake it off. What does this mean? I always ground myself and run my hands under water after giving treatments to get the energies off of me.

You may want to surround & protect yourself with the white light of Reiki before you begin a treatment. Also, don't forget to prepare the room by placing a power symbol on all four walls, floor and ceiling and one large power symbol on yourself before you begin. Also, look at what's happening during the Reiki session. I know that if I'm working a certain 'being of light' during a session I tend to get chills momentarily. Try meditating on your experience and ask for guidance, then follow you intuition. Remember, Reiki should benefit both you and the client, therfore you shouldn't have any unpleasant feelings during or after a session. In Light.
