Over the years I’ve been practicing Reiki healing I have found the only limitation when using Reiki is my lack of imagination and my mind, and not Reiki itself.

Let me explain about 12 years ago I was looking at using the Reiki symbols in different ways, and one symbol in particular was the absent healing symbol.

I was working on a client and I got the pull to use the Reiki absent healing symbol in the treatment.

So I did the following:

1. Asked the client to lay down and relax ( I work on the floor)
2. Sat by the client and opened up to the Reiki healing energy.
3. Visualized the Reiki absent healing symbol followed by the power symbol.
4. I then asked/focused the energy to go to a time before the clients issue started.
5. Completed the healing session(about 1hour)

The client then started to relate what had happened for them in the session, and believe me the story was absolutely amazing. They told me about a incident that had happened to them in early life that had affected them in a very negative way, and how seeing and remembering this had help them understand and heal what was happening now in there life.

So like I said at the beginning of this article, its my belief we are only limited by our imagination.

Anyone else like to share some of their healing experiences, whether you are a practitioner or someone who has received healing does not matter, I for one would like to hear from you all.

I can never get a straight answer on whether or not Reiki in Florida is permitted without a LMT certificate. Everyone always directs me back to an article that was posted in 2002. Anyway, so that I don't get in trouble with the law…what if I offer my services for a "donation". Would this be ok?

Straight answer, as a massage therapist trained in FL, the answer is no. The board has defined Reiki as a form of massage, therefore it is considered massage in the State of FL, which requires a massage license. Yes, the law is strict, perhaps even excessive, but that's the way it is.

Compensation is compensation - I wasn't even really allowed to accept a sandwich for doing massage in FL while in massage school. Never mind an understanding of "I accept donations". Doing it for friends and family, or otherwise not accepting compensation, would make the law not apply.

As for likelihood of enforcement, if no one complains then there is minimal likelihood that the FL Massage Board will know you exist. It doesn't make it legal. It just means that you might be able to practice quietly for years before anyone noticed or cared.

Some states have an informal understanding of not enforcing massage regulations on massage therapists - NH is currently one state that this applies. Other states have specifically written legislation that exempts Reiki Practitioners from massage regulation, my opinion (without legal training) is that the current MA regulations and some proposed NH regulations will exempt Reiki from massage regulations.

Otherwise, I have three recommendations - you can find another place to practice where the laws are in your favor. You can talk to your representatives and try to have the law changed. You can go learn lots of cool things in massage school and become a massage therapist that practices Reiki.

I chose to become a massage therapist after starting with Reiki when I wanted to do bodywork for a living. Two reasons - I learned lots of cool things I use in my practice and I will never have to wonder if I might lose my right to practice.

Is it better than acupuncture or are they two different approaches? And does Reiki work on your chakras' and or soul?

Although I'm a certified Reiki Master Teacher, I would say that neither is better as they are both entirely different approaches.

Accupuncturists place small needles in various pressure points in the body and are able to cure people of many ailments and allergies.

Reiki on the other hand is non-contact. The practitioner places their hands about an inch above the body and the healing energy moves through the recipients body via the hands of the practitioner. When I am doing a reiki session I work my way down over the five chakras, however, I am often guided to place my hands over other parts of the body where I feel heat and know that the healing energy is needed.

Reiki works on your mind, body and soul. So, in answer to your question .. reiki works on your chakras and your soul.

I know there are two levels then a master level. Are these nationally recognised qualifications? How do I get qualifications that can get me work in this field?

have you tried your local college, or alternative healng centre. You could even ask in health food shops they usually have links to alternative medi.
