How to become a reiki practitioner?
I am interested in becoming a reiki practitioner, but where do I find training for this? Anyone know of any certifications available? Preferrably in the Mid-west?

The first thing that I would recommend to you is to first UNDERSTAND what Reiki is and is not. Today, in the West, Reiki has become many different things for many different people. Some people claim that Reiki came from Native Americans, Atlantians, Tibet, and even from outer space!
There are many different types of Reiki out there - some having very little to do with anything Reiki at all. Some forms of "reiki' are nothing more than glamorized marketing ploys to get some sucker to buy into the latest fad. Please be aware of this.
Most of the books and web sites out there are grossly misleading - all feeding off of the same misinformation, twisting and turning it to appear as something new and improved.
If you'd like, I would offer to you some advice, if you'd care to contact me. I can point you in the right direction for books and things to get you building a good solid foundation on Reiki (and tell you which ones to avoid).
For example = any book written by Frank Petter is a good source. Any book written by Diane Stien or Maureen Kelly is NOT.
I can also help you look for a teacher and an accurate style of Reiki.

I am a Reiki Master and if you are in the Massachusetts area I can teach you for a fee. If not, any type of New Age Shop or Meditation Centers also can teach you. Good luck and Namaste (which means the Buddah in me salutes the Buddah in you.)

Go to your local new age/metaphysical/astrology/pagan store or fair and if you don't find a random Reiki master hanging around, you'll find someone who knows one. Don't go with the first one you find–talk to a few and make sure you're happy with the person and the type of Reiki they teach.

Recommend that you visit http://www.reiki.org, or type Reiki on Yahoo to find the Reiki Alliance, because they are the only real teachers, everyone else cannot be a real Reiki trainer or master, and you only would waste your money and time.

Try to feel the energy on the tips of your hand and start to concentrate on it and think that this energy is coming from universe you are receving it through your head and giving out through tips of hands the more you practice the more will be flow you are only pipeline for it
