What kind of massage, reiki or reflexology can be done on someone whose kidneys are working poorly?
His creatinine went though the roof and hes been declining, but his kidneys must be in good shape to support a major surgery and recovery.
Thank you all so much for the great answers; except, of course, the haters that waste their own time for reasons that I fail to understand.
I will do energy healing for free for your friend, but I need a current picture to connect with the person.
All you need to do is email me or have your friend email me.

reiki doesn't necessarily involve any pushing or massaging, so would definitely be an option. If you live in L.A., I have a recommendation for you to give to your friend.

Reiki doesn't involve massage of any kind. It is very gentle and safe. There are very many groups online who will do distance reiki if asked, and I have seen tremendous results from group efforts. I did a google search for "reiki request" and "free reiki request" and dozens of sites popped up. You could have people from every corner of the world helping to make a difference. I hope he feels better soon.

Well, having been a massage therapist for 17 years, I would first like to mention to Kalos, that he/she needs to get his facts straight before he goes around saying something is quackery. Reflexology is an ancient massage technique that does work, you can find info about it on the web, and also the areas that would be best to work on the foot. Massage is something I may or may not suggest for your friend, since I do not know the situation exactly. If the kidneys arent working due to cancer or something like that, massage is a not suggested, intially. However, I would suggest accupunture to your friend. This is HIGHLY effective when it comes to dealing with sluggish or underactive organs. I cannot suggest accupuncture enough for your friend. It is not painful, and not usually too expensive. Also, massage would have a great effect on the kidneys, if it turns out it was okay for your friend to get it and they were not compromised. This being simply because massage increases blood flow and fluid movement in the body by large amounts, which is going to push fluids through the kidneys. I would suggest a lot of water, A LOT, if he got a light massage.
Also, as the person above me has mentioned at length, Reiki is a highly effective healing technique that may be more along the lines for your friend while he heals.

they are all good depending upon the practitioner, there is even a decent chance surgery won't even be necessary

Are you trying to improve kidney function?
None of these will do anything to help failing kidneys.
Or are you just wondering if they're safe in such a patient?
There shouldn't be any problem with them, except that vigorous massage might further elevate creatinine levels.
Reiki is a joke. Pretending to shoot energy beams from the hands is comic book nonsense. Reflexology is almost as bad. Pity the poor gullible fools who fall for this crap.

None of those will help alleviate kidney malfunction. The longer one delays seeing a urologist, the worse it gets.
